Reconciliation defines the nationwide effort to repair the damaged relationship between natives and nonnatives across Canada. The project offers a perspective where the initial steps are for nonnatives to self-reflect on imposing euro-Canadian models in the North, therefore, forcing a confrontation with the detrimental consequences of their actions—symbolized by samples of permafrost from the 14 Kativik villages left to decay at the heart of Quebec's assembly hall courtyard. In essence, the project collapses the territorial expense of the territory and reframes decisional power by expanding the finite definition of the province theatre of operation.
